Representation in Sex Education with Dr. Tanya Bass
This two-hour online workshop delves into the practical application of a comprehensive manual on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in sex education. Participants will explore innovative strategies to integrate DEIB principles effectively within their curricula and educational practices. The session will include interactive discussions, providing educators with real-world examples and actionable insights. The workshop is designed to motivate educators by enhancing their understanding and ability to address DEIB effectively in sex education settings.
This workshop is Part 1 of a 2-Part Series. Part 2 will be presented at the 2nd Annual Adolescent Health Spring Summit in April 2025. More details to come.
Objectives:
By the end of this two hour session; participants will:
1- Understand and apply key DEIB principles from the manual to enhance inclusivity and equity in sex education.
2- Identify strategies to mitigate systemic biases and promote a culturally responsive teaching environment.
