Understanding Cultural Consciousness for the Sexuality Professional
Bias is something that everyone carries with them-- a result of our socialization process from the time we are born. We are often able to challenge our own biases if we can first recognize it-- thus being mindful on managing bias. Participants will learn about the concept of implicit bias, understand how it operates, and examine their own biases confidentially. CEUs unavailable for this webinar.
- Define implicit bias, cultural humility, cultural consciousness, microaggression, and the cycle of socialization
- Provide two examples illustrating the connection between socialization and implicit bias
- Identify at least two ways you will implement cultural humility in your professional work and lives
