Engaging Youth During Quarentine

Fact Forward sat down with ReZsaun Lewis from Lowcountry Youth Services to hear more about how they are effectively reaching youth while practicing social distancing. Before COVID-19, Lowcountry Youth Services planned to implement the Making Proud Choices cirriculum at a 1-day event complete with games and pizza. After realizing they needed to shift, leadership at the organization made the decision to break up their 1-day event into a webinar series where youth could get the same important content. Lewis facilitated all webinars and invited guests like Tennelle Jones from EMPOWERR to include more community voices. In this interview, Lewis discusses how they kept youth engaged throughout 8 webinars and how adolescents responded to virtually learning this sometimes uncomfortable content.

Are you interested in hearing more about how you can replicate this in your area?  Lewis offered to answer any questions other communities might have. Find his contact info on their website or through their social media listed below.
